Technology Lesson

My partner and I team-taught the lesson to make it more effective. The subject we needed to teach was vocabulary from the book "Charlotte's Web". We found a template online of a jeopardy game and then put the definition of the vocabulary word in the template and the children needed to say the vocab word in the form of a question. The lesson was a great success! The children were very excited and we had children speak up who don't normally speak up in class.

TPACK ideas

In my classroom the only technology available is a computer (on the teacher's desk that we really shouldn't use) and a projector that goes around the classrooms. I would teach a modern art unit with the projector showing different artist's work and their histories.s

TPAC questions for virtual tour

Content Area - I will be using several pictures, and a couple internet sites to show the students about the trek to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Pedagogy - I will use an active participant pedagogy to teach this lesson. The students will use the ruler tool and pictures to see how far away Nauvoo and Salt Lake are from each other and see how difficult the terrain is for pulling things across.

Technology - I will use google earth to have the students able to access the exact distances between Nauvoo and Salt Lake. They will also use the internet site for specific journal entries from pioneers.

Technology Inventory

I was surprised that there weren't any computers in the classroom where I have been assigned. The students do just fine without them. In fact, their class is rather crowded so it's better that they do not have computers in the room. I think it's great that there are so many computers in the computer lab and that the students have access to them there. I wish there were more science technology tools, but you have to work with what your school has!
